Description
Extremely Fine 1867-S Eagle
1867-S XF 40 Cleaned. A scarce S-mint ten with a mintage of only 9,000 pieces. The '67-S is a condition rarity as well with this piece being twenty points finer than the average grade encountered. The reddish tinted surfaces are a bit too bright from cleaning and show hairlines on each side. A series of three milling marks is located in front of Liberty's ear, but we see no other reportable abrasions. The mintmark is extremely weak and could easily be overlooked--a common occurrence on S-mint tens from this era.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 264M, PCGS# 8652, GSID# 9468)
