Description

1868 Ten Dollar, AU55
Low-Mintage Issue

1868 $10 AU55 NGC. The 1868 is among the more plentiful Liberty eagles of the postwar 1860s, but high-grade examples are still scarce. In Mint State, this issue is rare. The present Choice AU coin balances technical quality and affordability. The strike is bold, and there is little high-point wear. The yellow-gold surfaces show remnants of prooflike mirroring in the protected regions of the fields. Census: 23 in 55 (1 in 55+ ), 41 finer (6/16).(Registry values: N2998)
