Description

1868 Ten Dollar, AU58
Only One Coin Numerically Finer at PCGS

1868 $10 AU58 PCGS. Despite being one of the most available ten dollar issues from the 1860s, the 1868, with a low mintage of 10,665 coins, is nonetheless scarce in AU grades. Only six Mint State pieces have been certified, the finest of which grade just MS61 (9/14). This bright, yellow-gold example displays partial semiprooflike mirroring in the fields, a sharp strike, and virtually complete detail. Scattered abrasions accompany the grade, as usual. Population: 13 in 58, 1 finer (9/14).(Registry values: N2998)
