Description

1868 $10 XF45 NGC. Throughout the reconstruction era following the Civil War, gold coinage production was small, and few coins circulated except along the Pacific coast. The mintage in 1868 was 10,630 coins, and few survive in Mint State grades. Even AU examples are scarce. This Choice XF representative has trivial marks on its honey-gold surfaces with hints of mirroring in the protected areas. In a former generation holder.
