    Description

NGC 1869 AU 50. An extremely rare date with a mintage of only 1,830 pieces, the 1869 is one of the premier rarities in the With Motto series and indeed among all Coronet tens. In fact, its rarity is such that in the past 1869-S tens with a weak mintmark have been offered as the Philadelphia coin and proofs have been offered as the rarer business strikes. This piece is certainly above average for the issue with most surviving business strikes clustered in the VF grade range. However, what is typical for the issue are the prooflike fields that can still be seen on the coin. There are no large marks on either side and the rims are free from any bumps. As identifying marks for pedigree purposes there is a small group of grease stains (as struck) in the reverse field just above the eagle's head. Trends $12,000 (1/25). (NGC ID# 264R, PCGS# 8655)

The staff at Heritage are amazing to work with. My wife and I were given the "red carpet treatment" from the moment we walked in. We felt safe and secure the moment we arrived.
