Description

1870-S VF 35. An extraordinary condition rarity, the '70-S is prohibitively rare and expensive above the VF grade level. This is certainly a pleasing example that exhibits totally original surfaces as evidenced by the muted reddish-gray patina covering both sides. Softly struck, the surfaces are exceptionally clean with the only detracting elements being a series of short grease stains by star 4 on the obverse.
