Description
1870-S VF 30. An elusive, conditionally rare issue from the well utilized mint in San Francisco, with the majority of production that year going into twenty-dollar gold pieces. Just 8,000 1870-S eagles were struck and, of the few pieces known, only a handful exceed the XF level. This is a clean, mid-grade example with subtle reddish accents.
