Description1871 $10 --Improperly Cleaned--NCS. Fine Details. Faint hairlines appear under magnification. A couple of pinscratches under the ear are noted, as are some milling marks in the lower right obverse field. Honey-gold surfaces exhibit reasonable detail for the Fine Details grade. The 1871 eagle is a formidable rarity: only 1,790 pieces were struck for circulation. The 30 proofs coined are likewise rare.
