Description

Conditionally Scarce XF 40 1871-S Ten-Dollar

1871-S XF 40. A second and considerably finer quality example of this extreme condition rarity. The surfaces are bright and well struck, save for the tiny mintmark which is weak to the point of being of being possibly overlooked. A delicate coppery color is seen about the devices and there is an inconsequential rim nick on the obverse just above 9 o'clock.
