Low-Mintage 1873-S Ten Dollar, AU53
1873-S $10 AU53 NGC. Deep honey-gold patina covers both sides of this S-mint ten dollar piece, each of which exhibits well defined design features, except for softness in some of the star centers. Traces of luster reside in the recessed areas of the lightly abraded surfaces. This low mintage issue (12,000 coins) has seen a solitary certified Mint State example, a PCGS-graded MS61.
