Description

Noteworthy MS62 1874 Ten Dollar

1874 $10 MS62 NGC. CAC. The mintage of the 1874 is a bit higher than surrounding Philadelphia dates, perhaps because Treasury officials anticipated a return of gold coins to circulation. Nonetheless, the 1874 is very scarce, and becomes rare in Mint State. This example has good luster and a bold strike. Marks are few and unimportant. Census: 10 in 62, 9 finer (12/08).(Registry values: N2998)
