Description

1874 Ten Dollar Liberty, MS62
Smooth Surfaces

1874 $10 MS62 NGC. Smooth surfaces possess the eye appeal of a finer grade, although luster in the open fields is slightly subdued. This is a crisply struck example of an underappreciated issue that claims a mintage of 53,140 pieces. Mint State survivors are rare, as the series received little numismatic consideration in circulation-strike format until two decades later. Census: 8 in 62 (1 in 62+), 7 finer (5/18).
