Description

1874-CC Eagle, VF25
Scarce Carson City Issue

1874-CC $10 VF25 PCGS. Winter 1-A. The 1874 Carson City branch mint ten dollar gold is a scarce issue, struck from a single pair of dies with a mintage of 16,767 coins. This mid-circulated example has a lovely honey-gold patina. The mildly abraded surfaces have grade-consistent marks. Moderate circulation wear with good detail remaining in hair curls, shield lines, and eagle feathers. The 1874-CC eagle is known for having a blunt strike, and this specimen has some usual central striking softness evident. An overall attractive example of this sought-after Carson City gold piece.(Registry values: N991)
