Description

1874-CC Eagle, XF 40

1874-CC XF 40 PCGS. The 1874-CC is not the absolute rarity that the three previous years are from the Carson City mint, and average Fine to VF pieces can usually be located without too much difficulty. However, at the XF level, this almost becomes a condition rarity with only a handful of pieces extant. Softly impressed, as always, the most noticeable weakness is seen on the hair curls around the face on the obverse, and on the arrow feathers and claws of the eagle on the reverse. Rich orange-gold color, there are a number of typical small contact marks overall.
