Description

1874-S $10 XF40 PCGS. Throughout the first quarter-century of coinage at San Francisco, West Coast bankers and exporters preferred the double eagle denomination. In 1874, the facility struck 1,214,000 twenties but only 10,000 Liberty tens. Despite its rarity in all grades, the 1874-S is affordable in XF. This orange-gold example is smooth except for moderate field marks above the arrowheads. Certified in a green-label holder.(Registry values: N2998)
