Rare and Desirable 1875-CC Eagle, About Uncirculated

1875-CC $10 AU50 NGC. The 1875-CC is one of the rarest Carson City eagles and boasts a diminutive mintage of just 7,715 pieces. Although this number is actually higher than several other CC-mint eagles, the low survival rate of the 1875-CC has caused it to be difficult to locate today. Like many Carson City eagles, a large percentage saw fairly extensive circulation, and the number of extant pieces drops dramatically above XF. While a couple of Mint State examples have surfaced in the past decade, the 1875-CC remains an extremely elusive issue in high grades.
Significant luster radiates beneath the charming orange-gold patina. A number of wispy abrasions define the grade, but none are of any significance. The details are crisp save for a touch of softness on Liberty's hair. An appealing representative of this key date. Census: 8 in 50, 10 finer (8/08).(Registry values: N7079)
