Description

1876-CC Eagle, AU50
Very Scarce Nevada Mint Issue

1876-CC $10 AU50 PCGS. Variety 1-A. A population of about 150 1876-CC ten dollar gold pieces are extant from a mintage of 4,696 coins, which equates to an above-average survival rate of roughly 3%. That may be explained by a heightened sense of of significance for the Centennial-year issue, although no coins were apparently saved in mint condition. The finest known representatives are graded AU58.

Traces of reflectivity appear within the device recesses. Strike detail is good with an expected amount of merging over the stars and central design elements. Light orange-gold coloration and scattered marks define each side. Encapsulated in a green label holder. Population: 11 in 50, 11 finer (1/18).
