Description

Challenging XF 1876-CC Ten

1876-CC $10 XF40 PCGS. With the exception of the 1874-CC, which is merely very scarce, all Carson City ten dollar issues from the 1870s are rarities. The 1876-CC is no exception, since only 4,696 pieces were struck, most of which no longer survive. The present example has less wear than the grade suggests, but the straw-gold surfaces are slightly bright and Liberty's hair is softly brought up, as is usual for the issue. Population: 16 in 40, 39 finer (9/09).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265D, PCGS# 8675, GSID# 9482)
