Description
PCGS 1876-S XF 40. Rare in all grades, the '76-S has the second lowest mintage of all S-mint tens with only 5,000 pieces struck. It is very rare above VF, and in terms of condition rarity ranks in the top 10% of all ten-dollar gold pieces. The fields retain a fair amount of original prooflikeness that is amply evident when held beneath a light. There are a few more obvious marks in the obverse fields and one horizontal scratch above the eagle's head on the reverse. Trends $3,050.
