Description
1876-S XF 45 NGC. Rare in all grades, the '76-S has the second lowest mintage of all S-mint tens with only 5,000 pieces struck. It is very rare above VF, and in terms of condition rarity ranks in the top 10% of all ten-dollar gold pieces. The fields retain a faint amount of original prooflikeness that is still vaguely evident when held beneath a light. A bit softly struck on the obverse, the surfaces show a number of small abrasions but none that deserve individual mention.
