Description
Scarce 1876-S Eagle
1876-S VF 20 PCGS. A rare and underappreciated With Motto ten whose mintage of 5,000 pieces is the second lowest among S-mint tens (second to the 1860-S). It is also one of the unsung condition rarities in the series with very few pieces known above VF. This is an original piece that has evenly worn devices and considerable reddish color on each side. A milling mark is noted behind the nose of Liberty, but nothing else on the coin is worthy of mention.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265E, PCGS# 8676, GSID# 9483)
