Description

Ultra-Low Mintage XF45 1877 Ten

1877 $10 XF45 ICG. There are no proof-only dates in the Liberty eagle series, unlike the other gold denominations. But many Philadelphia ten dollar issues from the 1860s and 1870s have tiny mintages. Chief among those are the 1873, 1875, and 1877, each of which had productions of fewer than 1,000 pieces. This moderately circulated example retains prooflike luster in protected areas, and the only noticeable mark is relegated to the field beneath the right scroll end.(Registry values: N2998)
