Description
Circulated 1877 Eagle Rarity
1877 $10 --Cleaned--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF 40. Although typically abraded for a circulated eagle, this coin would have been attractive had it not been cleaned to a dull, tan-gold sheen. There are traces of original copper-gold color around some of the peripheral devices and the features display definition that would do justice to a Choice About Uncirculated grade. Despite its impairment, this is an important business strike survivor from an original mintage of just 797 pieces.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265F, PCGS# 8677, GSID# 9398)
