Description
1877-S $10 XF40 NGC. A seemingly underappreciated With Motto issue, the 1877-S eagle was only produced to the extent of 17,000 pieces, virtually all of which experienced light to moderate circulation. AU examples are seldom seen, and the date is prohibitively rare in Mint State, with only three such pieces certified (9/14). This XF representative displays original olive-gold patina, with well-detailed motifs. Light, scattered abrasions accompany the grade, as expected at this level.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265H, PCGS# 8679, GSID# 9485)
