Description
PCGS 1877-S XF 40. A rare and underappreciated issue, the 1877-S is of comparable scarcity to the '76-S, but perhaps is not quite as well known. At the XF 40 level, this piece is far above average for the issue with the average grade recorded by Akers as VF 25. A bit softly struck, the surfaces are hairlined from having been cleaned, but otherwise the most obvious blemish is a field mark between stars 1 and 2.
