    Challenging Carson City Issue

    1878-CC $10 XF40 PCGS. Variety 1-A. A tiny mintage of 3,244 pieces ensures the rarity of the 1878-CC eagle. PCGS estimates 60 to 75 survivors, and only one (graded MS61 by NGC) is certified as Mint State. The present XF example offers rich peach-gold toning. The slightly glossy surfaces show shallow strike-throughs near the date and first two stars. Encapsulated in a green label holder.(Registry values: N4719)
