Scarce San Francisco Issue
1878-S $10 AU58 NGC. The San Francisco branch mint struck
only 26,100 ten dollar gold coins in the year 1878, with most being
released to circulation. This lovely example had only a brief
excursion into commerce, with some expected light marks over the
fields and devices that are commensurate with the grade. Wheat gold
toning over lustrous and well-struck surfaces. Rare at this grade
