Elusive Low-Mintage Issue
1878-S $10 AU58 NGC. Only 26,100 Liberty eagles were struck
at the San Francisco Mint in 1878, making the issue scarce-to-rare
in all grades today. This impressive near-Mint example exhibits
well-detailed design elements that show just a trace of wear on the
high points, and lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces that retain
much original mint luster. Census: 26 in 58, 5 finer
