Description
Choice AU 1878-S Ten
1878-S $10 AU55 NGC. The '78-S Ten is a very elusive Ten Dollar Liberty and is generally unavailable in any grade. A couple of dozen AU pieces may exist today, but only a small handful (four have been certified) are believed extant today in Mint State. Lightly abraded, the coin is original and the green-gold surfaces show a light overlay of reddish patina that is most appealing. A bit softly struck for the grade, but good portions of mint luster remain on each side.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265L, PCGS# 8682, GSID# 9487)
