Description

Pleasing, Lustrous 1879 Ten Dollar MS64

1879 $10 MS64 PCGS. A second example of this scarce issue in near-Gem condition, also with considerable eye appeal. The centers are medium copper-gold, with hints of amber at the rims. The strike on the over-ear hair is actually a trifle better on this piece, but there are some light scrapes in the obverse left field before Liberty's face. A pleasing and lustrous example. Population: 5 in 64, 3 finer (5/06).(Registry values: N4719)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265M, PCGS# 8683, Greysheet# 9400)

Weight: 16.72 grams

Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
