1879 MS 62 PCGS. '79/8 Overdate, Breen-6993. While not officially sanctioned by either of the major grading services, this is a fairly obvious overdate. The lower left loop of an 8 is plainly evident within the lower loop of the 9. A rare variety and one of only a handful we can remember having seen. The surfaces are satiny and well detailed, being limited in grade by scattered obverse marks.
