1879-O XF 40 PCGS. A major rarity in the With Motto series of eagles, but that should not be too surprising with a mintage of only 1,500 pieces. The '79-O is similar in rarity to the 1883-O, but perhaps not quite as well known as that famous rarity. The fields of this piece show considerable remnants of a prooflike surface, and even though numerous handling marks are present, the coin still has considerable flash. Well struck in general. The most obvious marks are several located on the reverse. An important offering for the gold specialist.
