Scarce Choice AU 1880-CC Ten Dollar
1880-CC $10 AU55 NGC. This butter-gold Choice AU example has surprisingly few field marks, although small shallow strike-throughs (as made) are scattered. Philadelphia struck more than 1.6 million eagles in 1880, and San Francisco contributed another half million ten dollar pieces, but Carson City production was limited to 11,190 coins.
