Description

1880-CC AU 50. A scarce Carson City ten-dollar, of which only 11,190 pieces were minted. Usually only seen in VF and XF, strict AU coins are quite elusive. This is a bright, well struck coin with semi-prooflike fields. There are a couple of more obvious marks on each side, in addition to the numerous small abrasions scattered about.
