Description
1880-CC AU 50 NGC. While not as difficult as the dates from the 1870s, the 1880-CC is, nevertheless, a scarce coin, especially in AU condition with only 11,190 pieces produced. Of that number it is estimated that today perhaps 20-25 coins are extant in the AU grade range. This is a bright, semi-reflective coin that shows moderate abrasions on each side. The design elements are well defined except, of course, on the hair curls above the ear of Liberty.
