1880-O Ten Dollar, AU58+
Low-Mintage O-Mint Issue
1880-O $10 AU58+ NGC. CAC. From a minuscule mintage of 9,200
pieces, the 1880-O eagle is seldom encountered at the near-Mint
level, especially with the Plus designation. Currently, only two
other Plus-designated AU58 coins have been graded by NGC (11/21).
The present coin displays attractive greenish-gold surfaces, and
sharply struck over the central devices, with only slight traces of
wear evident on the highest points. Census: 35 in 58 (3 in 58+), 9
finer. CAC: 6 in 58, 2 finer (11/21).Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2010), lot 5454.
