Description
Surprisingly Rare Select 1880-S Ten
1880-S $10 MS63 PCGS. The mintage of the 1880-S is unimpressive at more than 500,000 pieces, but although hundreds of examples are certified as MS61 or MS62, the picture changes any finer. MS63 coins are rare, and only a single NGC MS66 is graded above MS64. The present '80-S is sharply struck and lustrous, but its greatest asset is its relatively few abrasions. Population: 28 in 63, 5 finer (2/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265V, PCGS# 8690, GSID# 9493)
