Description

1881 $10 MS64 NGC. Few collectors are aware that the 1881 has the second-highest mintage of the denomination, trailing only the 1932. But while the latter is plentiful in MS64, the 1881 is surprisingly rare. This sharply struck and lustrous apricot-gold eagle displays no more than the expected number of minor field abrasions. Census: 34 in 64 (3 in 64+), 2 finer (5/18).(Registry values: N1793)
