Description
1881 Liberty Eagle, MS64+ CAC
High Mintage Condition Rarity
1881 $10 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The mintage of 3.8 million eagles
in 1881 was the second highest production total of any eagle struck
from 1795 to 1933, trailing only the 1932 eagle. This is the ideal
example for a gold type collection, except that the high-grade
population contrasts with the recorded production. This example is
one of the 12 finest that PCGS has certified. The sharp design
motifs and the brilliant sun-gold luster combine to present an
exceptional example for an advanced collector. Population: 90 in 64
(10 in 64+), 2 finer. CAC: 10 in 64, 0 finer (12/24).Ex: Stack's Bowers (8/2016), lot 2387.(Registry values: N1793)
