Description

1881 $10 MS64 PCGS. There were only 10 issues in the Liberty eagle series that had mintages exceeding 1 million coins, and those are the ideal candidates for a type collection. With a coinage of more than 3.8 million coins, the 1881 had the highest mintage of the series. However, most surviving examples are at the low end of the Mint State range, with an average certified grade of only MS60. This Choice Mint State piece, housed in a green-label PCGS holder, exhibits faint blue overtones on its frosty and highly lustrous orange gold surfaces. Population: 37 in 64 (4 in 64+), 1 finer (1/18).
