Description

1881-CC Ten Dollar, AU58
Scarce Carson City Issue

1881-CC $10 AU58 PCGS. Winter 1-A. The Carson City Mint produced a small mintage of 24,015 gold eagles in 1881, and the date is quite scarce today in high grade and borderline rare in Mint State. The current near-Mint example displays partially lustrous fields and lovely peach-orange patina, with only light handling wear. Scattered abrasions accompany the grade, including a horizontal mark on Liberty's cheek that serves as a pedigree marker. PCGS Population: 41 in 58, 33 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N1793)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265X, PCGS# 8692, Greysheet# 9494)
