Rare Mint State 1881-O Ten-Dollar
1881-O MS 60 NGC. A rare O-mint, one of just 8,350 pieces struck, most survivors are in the VF to XF grade range. A mint state example is extremely rare with only 5 pieces thus far graded by NGC (4/97), no uncirculated specimens have been certified by PCGS. The surfaces are covered with myriad small contact marks, but both sides have a reflective quality as the coin is tilted under a light. An opportunity for the gold specialist.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 265Y, PCGS# 8693, GSID# 9495)
