Conditionally Elusive 1881-S Eagle, MS63
1881-S $10 MS63 NGC. The 1881-S is scarce in Select Mint State and essentially impossible to locate in a higher grade. NGC reports just 18 pieces at the MS63 level, and neither major service reports any finer examples (8/09). Dusty yellow-gold patina in the margins yields to brighter color over the centers.
