Description

Well Struck 1882-CC Eagle, AU53

1882-CC $10 AU53 PCGS. The mintage of Carson City eagles in 1882 (6,764 pieces) dropped considerably from the previous two years. This issue is mostly available in Extremely Fine. About Uncirculated pieces can be located with patience, and Mint State coins are extremely rare, with just three certified examples. While softness is visible in the hair at Liberty's ear, the remaining design features exhibit a much better-than-average strike. Peach-gold surfaces retain luster in the protected areas. A couple of milling marks are noted under Liberty's chin.(Registry values: N2998)
