Description

1882-CC Ten Dollar Liberty, AU55
Scarce, Low-Mintage Issue

1882-CC $10 AU55 NGC. Winter 2-A. The 1882-CC Liberty eagle claims a small mintage of 6,764 pieces, a significant plunge from the mintage of the previous year, and high-grade examples are elusive compared to both earlier and later issues. In The Confident Carson City Coin Collector, Rusty Goe considers the 1882-CC underrated among CC-mint ten dollar issues, estimating that fewer than 190 pieces survive in all grades. The date is rare in Uncirculated condition. This impressive Choice AU specimen displays modestly worn orange-gold surfaces, with only minor, scattered abrasions. The coin is well struck, and the overall presentation is most attractive. Census: 46 in 55, 41 finer (12/24).(Registry values: N2998)
