Description

Scarce 1882-CC Ten Dollar, AU55

1882-CC $10 AU55 NGC. The production of eagles at the Carson City Mint dropped in 1882 as the facility shifted to half eagles and double eagles. This Choice AU coin displays luster in the recessed areas of its peach-gold surfaces that are tinted with greenish-tan. An even strike characterizes the design elements, though minor softness occurs in the hair at Liberty's ear. Light marks are scattered over both sides. This issue is nearly unobtainable in Mint State. Census: 41 in 55, 39 finer (8/09).(Registry values: N2998)
