Description
1882-CC Liberty Eagle, AU58
Exceptional Luster and Eye Appeal
In a Green Label Holder
1882-CC $10 AU58 PCGS. Variety 2-A. The 1882-CC eagle is
mildly plentiful in XF and AU condition, but Uncirculated examples
are extremely rare. The rarity of such pieces is such that we have
only ever offered one other example besides the present piece, it
appearing twice in 2014 and selling for more than $25,000. The
present example, housed in a green label holder, is technically
near-Mint, but the quality and eye appeal rival those of some Mint
State-graded coins. Essentially full, frosty mint luster rolls over
each side, illuminating yellow-gold interiors and deeper
orange-gold peripheries. The strike is sharp, and portions of the
fields exhibit semiprooflike reflectivity. The strike is sharp. A
few scattered abrasions appear on each side, and a brush of rub on
Liberty's cheek appears to be the grade-limiting factor.
