Rare in Mint State
1882-CC $10 MS60 PCGS. Variety 2-A. The mintage of Liberty
eagles declined drastically at the Carson City Mint in 1882, to a
meager 6,764 pieces. Probably no more than 125-150 examples survive
today in all grades, and Mint State coins are extremely rare. This
attractive Mint State specimen exhibits sharply detailed design
elements in most areas, with just the slightest softness on the
hair above the ear and some star centers. The bright yellow-gold
surfaces display vibrant mint luster on both sides, with a
scattering of minor contact marks that explain the grade.
