Description

1883 $10 MS63 PCGS. Eagle production at the Philadelphia Mint declined to just more than 208,000 coins in 1883 (down from more than 2.3 million pieces in 1882), and survivors are proportionately elusive in high grade. This Select example is well-struck and displays frosty wheat-gold luster, with prairie-gold hues around the peripheries. Light, scattered abrasions limit the grade. Population: 88 in 63 (1 in 63+), 3 finer (5/15).(Registry values: N2998)
