Description

1883-CC Liberty Eagle, Sharp AU53
Beautiful Prooflike Example

1883-CC $10 AU53 PCGS. Variety 1-B. This Carson City issue is a rarity in Mint State and scarce in AU grades. Nonetheless, enough AU coins are known that collectors can cherrypick a high-end example. This coin, although graded AU53, is visually superior to most coins we have seen in this grade. Light friction on the cheek and in the fields is the only noticeable wear, and most of the fields are prooflike. Original orange-gold coloration adorns each side, and no distracting abrasions are present. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 16 in 53, 37 finer (1/18).
